Everyone wants to be well. We all have a story to tell and let’s face it, life can be excruciatingly painful for some at times. This mobile phone app was developed during my recent treatment and I knew that I needed to share it with others in the hope that it may be of some benefit to those in similar circumstances.

Briefly, this is my story. My name is Marina Weeden and I live in Brisbane Australia. I am a Yoga Teacher, an Ayurvedic Lifestyle Consultant and a Reiki Master.

My lifestyle and diet has always been at the forefront of my quest for great health and longevity. Unfortunately the single most powerful tool we have, our subconscious mind can unknowingly be our worst enemy.

In October 2011 I was diagnosed with a rare and very aggressive breast cancer. Following the diagnosis and surgery, I commenced chemotherapy and immunotherapy for 12 months and Radium therapy during that time also. So many of you will know how painful and debilitating this treatment can be.

I was fortunate to have the knowledge and skills to help my body to cope and heal by adapting the yoga poses to the way I felt on any one day. Some days it was bed yoga, on others it was on my mat, and some days

it was working on creating a peaceful space, to learn and understand my subconscious mind to free myself from the horrendous pain my body was experiencing as it rejected every drug they pumped into my body. I did this through Yogic Breathing, quiet contemplation and deep meditation. Finding this peaceful place in my mind is the only way to have my questions answered.

Most importantly, I found ways to show myself compassion by not being too hard on myself, and by surrendering to what needed to be done in order to live.

I kept a journal during this time so I could gauge and understand my thought process and which yoga poses were best at different times between treatments.

I have put together my yoga programme in the hope that it may be of benefit to you as it has been for me. Some of the poses were helpful immediately following the surgery, however they will benefit you regardless of where your cancer has been and at which stage of your treatment you are.

I pray for you to be well.
